Writing a great LinkedIn summary is a tricky recipe for even the most seasoned marketing professionals. It requires one part career summary, one part professional accomplishments and 2 parts of, er, your personality. And, the worst thing is that you never really know for sure how it’s going to taste for inquiring employers, clients and potential network partners.
One tactic that I first learned in journalism school was to have a friend or colleague read your narrative out loud, so you can hear how your words are interpreted by the reader.
That’s exactly what Joseph & Joseph Productions, a British comedy troupe, did with dozens of actual LinkedIn profile summaries. The results are nothing short of hilarious, and they might just get you to re-think how you’re introducing yourself to your fellow professionals on the platform.
